Here's number 14 of the NYR. Sorry I missed last week, finals are coming up and I have a lot to do for class. I'll make it up to you though. I promise.
This week I started recording a more upbeat song, but I was feeling a little melancholy so I went with this song instead. I wrote it when I was living in Logan in 2009. I also decided to embellish it a little bit. I hope that you like what I did.
Scars reduced to tears
I walk to keep me pacified
I hadn't felt this way in years
Still I failed despite my tries
We did all that we could
I loved him just like I should
Striving for perfection
Weighed down by what is real
I see him in my reflection
My heart belongs to him still
We did all that we could
I loved him just like I should
Peace in what we chose
No feelings of resentment
Don't know what the future holds
I'll settle for contentment
We did all that we could
I loved him just like I should
