Lot in Love

Here's Number 11 of the NYR.

This song I wrote the summer before Cameron and I got married. I felt that I'd had bad luck in relationships and I wanted to write something about it. This is one of my favorite songs because of the lyrics.

I'm so glad that my luck in love turned around and that I married such an amazing man. I'm so blessed to have him as my wonderful husband. He's been my rock throughout our marriage and I wouldn't be as happy as I am today if I didn't have him.

P.S. Tune in next week for a duet with my brother. :)

LOT IN LOVE

I fell in love with a boy who was untouchable
And always just out of reach
His skin was luminescent I feared it might
Shatter with just a brush on the cheek

This is my lot in love
The depth of mine and his lack thereof
But I've got to be okay
With the lonely alone me today

If he were to ask me to "jump" I'd say
"Where, when, how far and how high?"
He'd say "I need to you to love me without my love in return."
I would softly reply

This is my lot in love
The depth of mine and your lack thereof
But I'll try to be okay
With the lonely alone me today

I can see he can't be all that I need
But unfortunately that doesn't change a thing
No

With one glance of his my heart winds up
It grows tense just like a top
He pulls the string and my heart starts spinning 'round
It twirls and twists as it lights up

This is my lot in love
The depth of mine and his lack thereof
But I have to be okay
With the lonely alone me today

I wish this was not as applicable to my life as it is... haha Stink! But I am glad you could sing about it for me! :)
